I bought this mirror as a replacement (auto dim/compass only) mirror for my 2002 Subaru. I have a temperature gauge built into my dashboard, so I did not see the need to have a mirror with the temperature on it as well. Initially, the Subaru dealer tried to replace my broken mirror (the auto-dimming fluid drained) with the "new" Forester mirror. I found it to be too large and disproportionate to my older model car, and I found it to be more difficult to see out of than this type of shape...not to mention I HATED having the compass inset into the mirror corner.
